At soundsleeping.com there are a whole bunch of relaxing sounds that you can choose from to make yourself relax.
In my little sleepy-sound-bubble I created an Elvish home on the ocean (flute song and ocean). I added a thunderstorm to atmosphere, because it couldn't be too peaceful (rain and thunder). And, of course, I put some windchimes on the porch of the home (windchimes...duh. ha-ha).
This wouldn't help me sleep. Unfortunately, I've tried this and everything but medication. Nothing seems to work.

Sound Sleep?

Hello Hannah,
soundsleeping.com is my website, thank you for mentioning it on your blog. I'm sorry the sound mixer on my site didn't help you get sleep. I tried to take the sounds that most people find relaxing and put them together in this program so that they can be mixed together to create relaxing soundscapes. Although I think I put together a good group of sounds that encompasses sounds that the majority of people find relaxing/comforting, the sounds I chose don't work for everyone. Different people have a vast array of sounds that they find comforting, and for many that doesn't include the ocean, rain, birds, etc that I included in my program. Many people have written me suggesting sounds such as trains, vacuum cleaners, overhead planes, construction sites, playgrounds, etc as sounds that would be more comforting to them.
I plan to include a lot more sounds in my mixer in the future, including more atypical sounds.
Keep coming by my site, maybe soon there will be some new sounds that will help you to relax and/or sleep better.
Thanks again,
Mark Altman - www.soundsleeping.com
